Car Insurance

Its an older car but only has a small dent. I understand that its the value of the car vs their estimate of repairs that they are basing this on, but they didn’t include options like A/C, cruise control, power door locks and power mirrors and others when figuring its worth. They instead based it on an average car in my area. When doing the math the difference between fixing the dent and totaling the car came out to $18.00. Hi, My insurance co. has declared my car, which was involved in an accident, as total and have come up with a price which I don’t quite agree with. I could see some cars in local classifieds which are priced ~2K-2.5K above the quoted price by insurance co. I talked to insurance co. about it and they said if I wish to contest it, they would invoke the “appraisal clause” whereby my appointed appraiser and theirs would negotiate the settlement. My car is a ’07 Scion TC I got into a car accident The insurance company came out to assess my car and gave me a itemized quote totaling to 9K in damages.. I had a lot of miles on the car so the blue book is 11K.. Hopefully someone in the biz can let me know if you think they’ll ‘total loss’ it..
