I live in NYC and park my car in an outdoor parking lot. I applied for auto insurance w/TSC Direct and was quoted a great rate. Proceeded to apply and was told that they can only offer me liability insurance b/c i dont park my car in an indoor garage. Since my car is financed by law i am required to have full coverage. I bought a car 3 months ago and went through SafeAuto to get insurance. I haven’t had a previous auto insurance policy for about 5 years before that (i know thats bad!). When I fill out online quotes for new insurance companies, it asks if I’ve got insurance right now & for how long. Am I able to answer yes, though I’ve only had insurance for 3 months? Will I qualify for the lower rate for having previous insurance, or do I have to wait 6 months/1 year? Continue reading..
