I just bought a car and got only the legal minimum insurance which is liability. My finance company is threating to take my car if I don’t get full coverage. I don’t have full coverage because it’s too expensive. They want me to get full coverage because it helps protect them. Can they take my car if I don’t get full coverage?

Sunshine, answer the question: If people refuse to pay the already-cheap $40 a month for car insurance, why on earth do you think they’ll pay for health insurance? They’ll risk the 5 years in prison just like they do now by not getting auto coverage.

Why is the emphasis on lowering health insurance costs instead of lowering the price of health care?
When I was growing up (70′s and 80′s) insurance was for “just in case” like car insurance only covers you for accidents. You don’t need insurance to pay for an oil change, so why do is health care allowed to be so expensive that you need insurance just to get a check up?

My car’s in the body shop right now so they gave me a rental car. My insurance’s paying for the car rental up to March 24 however, the repair shop called and said it will take up to April 9th to get the car all fixed. Is there anyway that I can get my auto insurance to still cover the car rental during those days even though I have already reached the maximum coverage? The guy at the repair shop said I can fight it but I’m not so sure. Any helpful advice is welcome. Thanks!
