My Sister Cancelled Her Auto Insurance 3 Days Ago Because Her Car Broke Down.?
After she did it she got a call from an acquaintance whose car she hit in a parking lot last summer. The girl decided she wanted to get the car fixed finally and her quote was $1200. So can my sister call back up and get her insurance reinstated and then file the claim for something that happened back in August? She is driving my grandma’s vehicle right now and is covered under my grandma’s policy at the moment.

For saving money on Auto insurance, first select good company for that. You can search on internet the available sites of insurance. Then compare all of them for choosing best company which can provide good service as well as reasonable price. I have also followed these steps when i was looking for insurance company. I took policy from online-autoinsurance.net.

For auto insurance the easiest way to get a low quote is do a policy comparison. If you choose the same coverage levels, you can get an fast quote to compare against others. Use the same city/state, car make/model, mileage and driving history to ensure you get accurate comparison. To get fast auto quotes, go to http://www.goodinternetdeals.com/Auto-Insurance.html and you can compare all the major auto insurance companies.

As long as her insurance was valid at the time of the accident, your sister’s company should cover the damage. She needs to file a claim report with them right away. Whether it’s in force now makes no difference for last August.
Sis needs to be sure she’s listed as a driver on Grandma’s policy to avoid any possible problems; it may cost more, but she can pay Grandma the difference.

She doesn’t have to reinstate her policy – as long as it was in effect back in August, it should cover – HOWEVER, there could be some issues with the delay.
And, if she’s not listed as a driver on grandma’s policy, she might not be covered.

it does not matter when the accident happened. if she was insured at the time of the accident then the accident will be covered by that insurance company with the coverages at that time.

Why has the friend waited nine months to decide that she wants to make a claim ? Im sure the insurance company will want to know this as well.
Also you will not be eligable for any refund on your policy if you have an outstanding claim.

If the accident happened while she was insured, then they should cover it. However, if she canceled it recently, good luck getting good customer service. A new policy won’t cover anything that happened before the policy was active.
