There is no auto insurance law per se, but there is a financial responsibility law that says you either meet the requirements by having insurance or post a cash bond to cover any damage you cause–in other words, you are self insured. If you have enough cash on hand, forget insurance and do the bond.
Wisconsin Liability Coverage limits explanation:
25/50/10 25=$25,000 – 50=$50,000 – 10=$10,000
First number = bodily injury liability maximum for one person injured in an
accident.
Second number = bodily injury liability maximum for all injuries in one
accident.
Third number = property damage liability maximum for one accident.
So, $85,000 should cover it.

Do you have $50,000 in the bank to cover someone else’s injuries and damage to their vehicle?
I find it hard to believe that ANY state would not require you to have at least liability insurance on your vehicle. All I can say is you’d better not ever be at fault in a collision.
