I’m A Young Guy On My Red P In Nsw, I Like S15 Silvias, Found A Few Non-turbo. Should I Get It?
Online insurance quotes are not always accurate, and I like to be thorough in my research. Please keep in mind I’m not a fanboy, I just like the car. My dad has a BF XR6 Falcon and my big sis has an R34 GTS-T; they both told me to avoid V6′s and I am prepared to spend a good $25K on an S15. But I had a friend who owned one and wasn’t happy with it (auto) mainly because he claimed it guzzles for a 4 cylinder and it’s (stock) performance was sub-par. I’m hoping that someone who has owned or driven one before can give me some unbiased advice. Thank you for your help.

The sr20de produces a good amount of power and for a p plater def a good amount after all even that power is faster than many people’s cars, being RWD will give you that extra power and feel of power also.after all my first cars where no higher than 90bhp as that is what it was like back then.
Overall the s15 is a great looking and is a good car if anything as with the sx silvia range under rated. The auto box if set up right on that car should not be an issue i had an r32 gts-t auto which was a really good car and the auto box did not bother me to which i though it would as i had owned mainly manuals before, but when i next bought an Spec 2 R33 GTS-T went auto again. So auto wise if it is set up right for that car to give a sporty feel then auto is fine and should not be a sit back boring experience.
Fuel wise manual auto it does not matter i have owned loads of imports etc from a cefiro s13 200sx skylines etc etc all of which drink fuel, when asking on mpg on one the seller said if you ask that question then go buy a Diesel mpv.
Insurance wise def rig up as i have always got a better deal on the phone, with had cheaper elsewhere etc.
If you like the car then get it,if it is worth that money where you live then get it and when it comes to selling it sell it to another p plater.

Are you a safe driver? If you have taken a driver’s education course or an advanced drivers course make sure you tell them about this, this could also get you a discount.
