Auto Insurance, If I Get In Accident &don’t Tell Police, Change My Quote, Then Tell Company?
In better step to ask my question… (i’m in Michigan)
1. I get in accident
2. I didn’t call police to report that I get in accident, I crashed to sand buckets in highway.
3. From having lowest payment of quote, I change to full coverage.
4. Then I will call my insurance company that I get in accident about a week later, so they don’t suspect me.
Is this right or wrong? Can I do this? I don’t want to pay too much on fixing my car…
Thank you very much for your answer!

First, they may ask for their inspector to view your car before issuing the policy.
Secondly, if the first item does not take place, they may question why you suddenly bought full coverage – red flag warning to the insurance company, THEN have a accident a week, or month later. People buy full coverage at the time of initial purchase, not after they’ve owned the car for a while.
You will be caught. You will be convicted of insurance fraud.
Insurance companies are keen to this type of fraud. It’s too obvious to them.

First of all, this is illegal.
Secondly, When you change from liability coverage to collision coverage, your insurance company will inspect your vehicle and note your policy of any existing damage you have.
Thirdly, if you file a false police report and insurance claim you can go to jail. Its a felony.

You can’t tell if this is right or wrong?? How’s this, it’s called INSURANCE FRAUD! It’s a felony and you could go to jail.

This is wrong.
You can try, but it is illegal.
If you get caught, you may be arrested for insurance fraud and spend a long time in prison.
