I bought a 2006 auto a couple weeks ago and when I called my insurance co. to add it, they said they could add GAP insurance, too. (which I need) Now they are saying they can only add it to a NEW car, not used. Anyone know if I can purchase strictly a GAP policy to cover my car? I don’t want to switch insurance because of discounts having my other car, homeowners, etc. through them. Continue reading..

I live in NYC and park my car in an outdoor parking lot. I applied for auto insurance w/TSC Direct and was quoted a great rate. Proceeded to apply and was told that they can only offer me liability insurance b/c i dont park my car in an indoor garage. Since my car is financed by law i am required to have full coverage. My son’s girlfriend is 18 and she is purchasing a new car. She is financing part of it. The insurance for her is very expensive so I though maybe I could add her to my policy. I talked to insurance co. about it and they said if I wish to contest it, they would invoke the “appraisal clause” whereby my appointed appraiser and theirs would negotiate the settlement. So, just wondering if someone Continue reading..

They tacked on an additional @$2700 onto my loan and since that time my car payment went from $350 a month to $700 a month. Before this happened, my credit was good, and since after that time my credit changed drastically. I’ve been told that this may be illegal. If anyone has info, please let me know. Oh, and this is in CALIFORNIA. Thanks! Continue reading..
